Paid Services — General Policy

Otaku Shinden offers a small set of paid digital services: entry fees for paid events, OtakuCoins (a virtual in-platform currency), and Season Passes. We do not offer subscription plans. Because access or credit is granted immediately, purchases are generally non-refundable once an event has started or an item has been credited, except in the specific cases listed below.

Event Entry Fees (Participants)

Some events charge a participation fee set by the organizer. Once you join a paid event, the fee is non-refundable — except where the event is cancelled by the organizer or by Otaku Shinden before it begins, in which case participants receive a full refund or equivalent OtakuCoins credit, at your choice. Entry fees are collected through the event itself.

Organizer Commission

For paid events, Otaku Shinden deducts a platform commission from the entry fees the event collects; the organizer receives the remaining balance after commission and any payment-gateway charges. Commission on events that have already run is non-refundable. If an event is cancelled before it begins and participants are refunded, no commission is charged.

OtakuCoins

OtakuCoins are a virtual in-platform currency. Purchased OtakuCoins are non-refundable once credited to your account, regardless of whether they have been spent. Please ensure you intend to use them before purchasing.

Season Passes

Season Passes are non-refundable after activation. If a season is cancelled by Otaku Shinden before it begins, you will receive a full refund or equivalent OtakuCoins credit at your choice.

Billing Errors and Duplicate Charges

If you were charged more than once for the same transaction, or charged an incorrect amount due to a technical error on our end, we will issue a full refund for the erroneous charge within 5 business days of a verified report.

Failed or Incomplete Payments

If a payment was deducted from your account but your event entry, OtakuCoins, or Season Pass was not activated due to a technical failure, contact support with your transaction reference. We will resolve it within 3 business days.

How to Request a Refund

Email support@otakushinden.com with the subject line "Refund Request — [your username]". Include your registered email address, the date of the transaction, and the transaction ID or order reference from your payment confirmation. We respond within 48 hours.

Chargebacks

Initiating a chargeback without first contacting our support team may result in immediate account suspension. We strongly encourage resolving any billing concerns directly with us first.

Changes to This Policy

We may revise this refund policy from time to time. Continued use of the platform after updates indicates acceptance of the revised terms.
